Well location information was captured from location
reports and converted to point shapefile. Additional information was compiled
from Final Well Reports (1970 to 2013). Attribute information includes:
OPERATOR - operator of the authorisation under which the well was drilled;
REF_NO - unique reference number given to each well; WELL_NO - designation
identifying the quadrant, block and sequence number (qq/bb-n)
of the well; SPUD_LATID/SPUD_LONGI
- latitude/longitude of well location in DMS; DDLATITUDE/DDLONGITUD -
latitude/longitude of well location in DD;
WELL_CLASS - well classification (exploration or appraisal); AREA - location of well (basin);
RIG_NAME - rig used to drill well; TD__MD - total measured depth; RIG_DATUM - rig datum elevation; WATER_DEPT - water depth; UNIT - unit of
measurement (ft/m); SPUD_DATE - date that well was spudded; RIG_RELEAS - date that rig was released
from location; WELL_STATU - current
status of well. More detailed information on individual wells can be accessed
at http://gis.dcenr.gov.ie/internetIPAS/servlet/internet/IPAS2IOffshoreWellsSearch
