Principle data capture Technique - Information taken from the OSi 1:50k Discovery Series, 1:10,560 sheets (6 inch sheets) and GPS system to locate point features which have been projected using the National Irish Grid.

Information entered in an Oracle database.
Main data sources during the data compilation stage were: maps of vary scales, literature and company records. The main data sources during the updating stage are: information acquired during field investigation.

Spatial Accuracy : Positional Errors between 5 to 10 metres for GPS data resolution and errors up to 500 metres for data taken from six inches map, aerial photos and other sources.
Currency : Digital geometry and attributes are based on Groundwater feature parameters.
Thematic accuracy: Accuracy levels are given for each record.
Logical consistency : Data is consistent incorporated into ArcGIS 8.3. The Geometrical shape of the real structures reflects their geometry in the dataset.
